Who we are

Scalesworks is the trading name of Scalesworks Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16492078.

Who we work with

We sell to businesses, not to consumers. When you book a scope or accept a quote, you confirm you are doing so for a business.

What we sell

• Build call: free. Half an hour on a video call. You bring one process that eats your week, and we tell you whether there is anything worth building.
• Scope: €2,500. A week with the people who do the work, written up as a scope sheet: what happens today, where the handoffs break, what we would build and what we would leave alone, with a fixed price and a fixed date. The sheet is yours whether or not you go ahead. If you go ahead with the build, the €2,500 comes off the build price.
• Build: a fixed price, quoted from the scope sheet. Automations typically cost €10,000 to €22,000, agents €22,000 to €45,000, and custom software €45,000 to €100,000. A build takes two to six weeks and ends with a handover.
• Upkeep: optional, 15% of the build price a year, billed monthly. We keep what we built working as models, APIs and your own systems change.

Prices and currency

All prices are in euros (EUR, €). The ranges on this site are guides. What you pay is the fixed price in your written quote.

Prices exclude VAT. VAT is added where the law requires it.

Cloud hosting, AI model usage and other third-party services run on accounts in your name. Those providers bill you directly, and their costs are not part of our price.

How you pay

We send an invoice for every payment. You can pay by bank transfer or by card (Visa or Mastercard). Payments are processed by Wise.

• Scope: paid in full before the scope week starts.
• Build: paid in three instalments: at the start of the build, at the midpoint milestone named in your quote, and on handover. Your quote sets out the amount of each one.
• Upkeep: paid monthly, in advance.

Each invoice is due by the date shown on it.

Card payments and security

Card payments are taken on Wise’s own payment page, not on this website. Your card details go straight to Wise. We never see, receive or store your card number.

You are charged in euros (EUR, €). If your card is in another currency, your card issuer does the conversion.

This website runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). It does not ask for card details anywhere.

Delivery

Everything we sell is a service, delivered online. Nothing is shipped.

• Build call: a video call, at a time we agree by email.
• Scope: the scope sheet is delivered as a document at the end of the scope week.
• Build: the code is written in a repository in your own account from the first day, and runs in your own cloud account. Delivery dates are the ones in your quote.
• Handover: in the final week of the build. You get a walkthrough with your team, the credentials, the runbook and architecture notes, and two recorded training sessions. One month of questions by email is included after handover.

Cancellation

To cancel, email scalesworksltd@gmail.com. A cancellation takes effect on the day we receive it.

• Build call: cancel or move it at any time. It is free.
• Scope: cancel before the scope week starts and you get the full €2,500 back. Once the week has started, the scope fee is not refunded. You keep the scope sheet as far as it has been written.
• Build: you can stop a build at any point. Cancel before the build start date and the first instalment is refunded in full. After that, the instalment for the stage in progress is not refunded, and no further instalments are invoiced. Everything built up to that day is already in your repository and stays yours.
• Upkeep: cancel in any month. It stops at the end of the month you have paid for. The software stays yours and keeps running.
• If we cancel: if we stop work for any reason other than an unpaid invoice, we refund in full anything you paid for work we have not done.

Refunds

Every build is custom work, so refunds follow the cancellation rules above:

• Build call: free, so there is nothing to refund.
• Scope: a full refund if you cancel before the scope week starts. No refund once it has started.
• Build: the first instalment is refunded in full if you cancel before the build start date. After that, instalments already paid are not refunded, and instalments not yet due are cancelled.
• Upkeep: no refund for a month that has already started.
• If we cancel: a full refund for work not done.

If something we handed over does not do what the signed scope sheet says, tell us within one month of handover and we will fix it at no charge.

Refunds go back the way you paid: to your card, or by bank transfer. We pay them within 14 days of agreeing them.

Ownership

What we build for you is yours. The code sits in your repository, the software runs in your cloud account, and the keys are in your name. Ownership of each stage passes to you when it is paid for. There is no licence fee to keep using it.

Open-source components we use keep their own licences.

Your information

Anything we see in your systems is confidential, and we use it only to do the work. How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy policy.

Liability

Our total liability under a quote is limited to the amount you paid under that quote. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Export restrictions and sanctions

We deliver services online and do not ship goods. We do not work for anyone subject to UK, EU or UN sanctions.

Software we build may be subject to export control rules in the countries where you run it. You are responsible for meeting those rules.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

We may update these terms. The version in force on the day you accept a quote is the one that applies to that quote.
